Alliance / Association

Self presentation association

The association Decolonize Berlin e.V. is committed to the critical examination of the history and present of colonialism and racism, to the recognition and reappraisal of colonial injustice, and to decolonization throughout society.

In 2019, the association emerged from a civil society network of Black, diasporic, postcolonial, and development groups in Berlin. This alliance continues to exist and is supported by the commitment of more than 100 individuals.

Self presentation alliance

The alliance Decolonize Berlin is composed of a civil society network of black, diasporic, postcolonial and development initiatives, associations and individual activists. This alliance is committed to the critical examination of the history and present of colonialism and racism, to the recognition and reappraisal of colonial injustice, and to a decolonization of society as a whole.

The content-related work takes place in working groups, in which individuals but also initiatives/associations exchange ideas on specific topics, work and plan projects. They support the work of the association Decolonize Berlin significantly and coordinate their activities with the board. Each working group has a spokesperson.

Every third Wednesday of the month there is an open Bündnistreffen, das derzeit digital stattfindet.

We see ourselves as a growing alliance and are looking forward to interested self-organized initiatives and associations that want to become part of our association/alliance.
